XIMAGE instructs www4mail to insert suitable links for grahpical images into the reply sent to you. It will only affect the XGET or XSOURCE or direct URLs. Example XIMAGE http://www.ictp.trieste.it The www4mail ximage option will not send you any images directly. This is because some images in a page may just be there to separate portions of the page e.g an image named line.gif could produce a short line. It will only allow links (Selection points) for images to appear in a web page sent to you. This way you can select all the images that you are interested in. www4mail will try to label these links by the names of the images or suggested text from the WEB server. This way you can click or request for image1.gif or myphoto.gif and not line.gif (which was just used to rule the page). Note XIMAGE will appear not work: * if the page does not contain any images, * the WEB server determines that we are a text mode browser and does not send us a page with images, * if you used the GET, SEND, SOURCE or TSOURCE commands. XIMAGE will not work with GET or SEND commands which do a text dump of the web page. It also will not work with TSOURCE or SOURCE, which send you the unmodified HTML source code. It only works when used with XGET or XSOURCE. In fact it only works when used with web browser interface where by you can select in your next e-mail, the images that you would like.
